Ismail Kadare
Ismail Kadare (Albanian: [ismaˈil kadaˈɾe]; 28 January 1936 – 1 July 2024) was an Albanian novelist, poet, essayist, screenwriter and playwright.[2] He was a leading international literary figure and intellectual, focusing on poetry until the publication of his first novel, The General of the Dead Army, which made him famous internationally.[3]
The work of academician Minir Dushi – a treasure of Albanian science
He spent his entire career in the Trepca mine, carrying out many engineering works and projects, and for several years he led an important scientific-research institution of the time, the Trepca Lead and Zinc Institute. It is inevitable not to mention in any case the undeniable contribution of academician Minir Dushi to the development and consolidation of university education in Kosovo, by laying the foundations of the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy in Mitrovica as well as in the development of the University of Prishtina.

When we received the news of the physical separation of academician Minir Dushi – the man who dedicated his entire life to science, the university, Mitrovica and the national issue – there was pain, but also pride for a small collaborator of the academician for whom I feel obliged to speak about his tireless work, successes and achievements. For the prosperous publishing activity in the field of geology and mining, to which issues he was dedicated throughout his life.
